Tackle Twill

Tackle Twill is the stitching of twill fabric onto sweatshirts or team jerseys.

The most commonly seen application of tackle twill is for university or college sweatshirts or jackets. The school letters are cut out of twill using a laser cutter and then stitched onto the sweatshirt. Embroidery is often added underneath to enhance the design. Usually adding the department, or the year or some smaller sub-text.

Tackle twill is a classic look that never goes out of style. Stitched on letters have been around for decades and the offer a substantial, long lasting alternative to screen printing.

How Do We Price Tackle Twill Applique?

Tackle Twill prices depend on the size, amount of layers and amount of stitches used to hold it down. Before we can give you a price for tackle twill we will need to get a good idea what you are trying to create. The amount of time needed to produce stitched on twill can vary greatly from design to design.

The biggest deciding factor regarding the price for tackle twill is the kind of stitch you choose to use as your finishing stitch.

There are three pricing structures based on which the kind of stitch you choose.

Walking Stitch: Cheapest

Walking stitch is the most cost effective way to stitch down tackle twill. It uses the least amount of stitches and therefore is the quickest way to sew down the twill. It does however, leave the edges exposed. This can be a design choice. The edges wont fray or unravel as we cut them with a laser and so they are sealed by the heat.

Zigzag stitch: Middle Price

Zigzag is the middle cost for stitching down tackle twill. It doesn’t cover the entire edge of the twill, so the laser cut edges are still visible. It does add a nice athletic look to the twill as well as a long lasting application.

Satin Stitch: Most Expensive

Satin stitch is the most amount of stitches and therefore is the most expensive option. It covers the edge of the twill completely and offers the finest looking and smoothest finish to tackle twill.
